The Ridge family shares why interconnectedness—
a classical emphasis—is preparing their students for life.

How long has your family been a part of our school?

Since 2017

Why did you choose FCS for your child(ren)?

We love classical Christian education, and when a job change brought us to this area, we were blessed to find Faith Christian School.

What do you love most about FCS?

I love that at FCS my children are known well and loved well. This includes their strengths and weaknesses. Staff and faculty invest in our children, pray for them, and speak into their lives regularly.

How is FCS preparing your student(s) for God's call on their lives, including hopes, plans, and dreams for college, career, and/or community?

FCS is helping to prepare my children for life by helping them understand the interconnectedness of all things. Ultimately, all things fall under God's authority and are related. This is emphasized in the integration of academic subjects as well as athletics and student life. We have excellent advocates for all parts of the student experience here at FCS and consider each child holistically.

What is one word that describes our school? Tell us why you chose that word.

Paideia-I chose this word because it is an all-encompassing word that means our way of learning, including our culture and our community. It is a challenge to be in the world but not of it. FCS is a place where my family can be supported by other believers.

Describe one of your favorite (or your student's favorite) teachers and the impact that this teacher has had in your student's life - or perhaps a specific example of a way this teacher has cared for your student in a special way.

I love how teachers that know my students well offer grace in some situations and hold them accountable in others. It is a balancing act for sure. My boys have had the freedom to fail and get back up and also to thrive and excel.

What would you tell another parent to encourage them to consider enrolling their child at FCS?

Faith is not just a school. It is a caring community where the whole family can find fellowship and deepen their faith as they walk alongside other believers who care deeply about providing an excellent education for their children from a biblical perspective.
