Responsibility Makes Maturity

In the video below, Peter Baur, Head of Faith Christian School, explains how giving students age-appropriate levels of responsibility mature them into the men and women God created them to be and contribute to the community in numerous ways. Knowing when to inspire each student with new leadership challenges occurs only when teachers know their students—their weaknesses and their strengths—deeply.

Examples of Age-Appropriate Responsibilities

  • JK - Putting things away after each use, being responsible for backpacks
  • K - Sharpening pencils for classmates, class leader for the day
  • 5th - A "buddy" to JK student to provide an example and friendship
  • 12th - Ample leadership opportunities such as positions of leadership in school clubs, athletics, and participation in Model General Assembly.
  • Faith Christian School: Pre-K through 12th-grade personalized education that develops articulate, engaging, confident critical thinkers.
  • Our academic program is distinctly Christian and distinctly Classical. The underlying philosophies of these two important distinctions greatly affect our approach to education.
  • To learn more, read our Statement Of Faith or learn how Classical education differs from other methodologies and better prepares students for college and life.
