Senior Spotlight: Rachelle Brown, Class of 2024
In what grade did you start attending Faith Christian School?
I have attended Faith Christian School since Kindergarten.
What activities were you involved in while you were a student at Faith Christian School?
I have been involved in Cavatina, Middle and Upper School Choir, Praise Band, Hi-Y, Veritas, Theatre, Cross Country, and Warrior Run Club. I have served as SGA president for two years, student ambassador, and Project Faith Student Manager.
What might some of your favorite memories be?
Some of my favorite memories include leading SGA events, MGA trips, being a part of the Enchanted April cast, and hanging out with friends at sports games.
What is your thesis topic and why did you choose it?
Fatherlessness and the Restoration of American Fatherhood. I chose this topic because I wanted to explore the importance of human relationships (especially within the family) and how God has designed us to long for manifestations of Himself here on Earth.
How might your learning in a Christian environment at FCS positively affect you?
Learning in a Christian environment has been fruitful not only academically but also spiritually. I know that my teachers care about my faith, and the godly friendships I have developed have provided me with a close-knit community which will be hard to leave.
Has there been a teacher at FCS that has impacted your faith, education, or personal growth in a significant way? If you were to say thank you to this person, what might you say?
Mrs. Hopkins – I am grateful for Mrs. Hopkins and the impact she has had not only on my life but on the Faith Christian School community as a whole. She exudes wisdom, and her passion for literature and the things of God is evident. Most importantly, she is an example of a woman who seeks after the Lord in all aspects of life.
What might it mean to you to have attended both a classical and Christian school?
It has taught me the importance of asking good questions and observing the world around me through the lens of the ultimate truth found in Christ. Leaving Faith Christian School, I feel well-equipped to influence culture, rather than being influenced by it.
What are some things you would like to tell younger students as they continue their education at FCS?
Never take your teachers for granted. You will be surprised at the vast impact they will have on your life. Take risks and try new things; never be afraid of judgment.
What are your plans for after graduation?
I plan to attend Liberty University where I will pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a focus in hospitality.
