“A child has a natural curiosity and ability to learn. Classical educators understand this and teach to the nature of the child. Christian educators understand that children bear the image of God and that they are stewards of the children in their care. Classical Christian education is a high calling.” - Mikie Larsen

I have wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember. I don't know if anyone or anything inspired that desire. Since graduating in 1990, I have taught in public, private, collaborative, and home school settings.

When my husband and I made the move to Virginia in 2018, I began an internet search for Classical Christian schools in the area. I came across the FCS website and devoured every bit of it. The website very clearly laid out the philosophy of the school, and after reading the site and listening to the videos, I knew I wanted to be a part of this school.

What post-secondary schools did you attend? Degrees held?

I graduated with a Bachelor's degree from Judson College in Elgin, Illinois.
