In what grade did you start attending Faith?

I have attended Faith Christian School since kindergarten.

What activities were you involved in while you were a student at Faith?

I started playing junior league basketball in fourth grade and then again in fifth grade. I continued playing basketball throughout middle school. When I was in eighth grade, I was the Varsity volleyball manager. I played basketball in ninth grade, and then, starting my junior year and continuing through my senior year, I became the Varsity basketball manager.

What might some of your favorite memories be?

One of my favorite memories was getting to play on the same basketball team as my sister when I was in ninth grade.

What is your thesis topic, and why did you choose it?

I chose to do my thesis topic on the Hidden Consequences: The Toll of Binge-Watching. I am a binge-watcher myself, and I see people on screens every day, and I started to wonder what binge-watching/being on screens was doing to our bodies and souls.

How has learning in a Christian environment at FCS positively affected your education?

Learning in a Christian environment at FCS positively affected my education by teaching me to find beauty in everything.

Has there been a teacher at FCS who has impacted your faith, education, or personal growth in a significant way? If you were to say thank you to this person, what might you say?

There have been a lot of teachers here at FCS who have impacted my life both in faith and education. If I could tell them thank you, I would say, thank you for helping me grow in my faith and in my confidence. I am grateful for all the help and support you have given throughout the years.

What does it mean to be a classical and Christian school?

Christian classical education is made up of grammar, logic, and rhetoric. Christian classical education does not just teach what to think, but how to think.

What are some things you would like to tell younger students as they continue their education at FCS?

My advice to younger kids is, do not let your struggles define you. Every day you will learn something new, and every day there might be a bump in the road, but you are stronger than the struggles. Let God lead you through them.

What are your plans after graduation?

My plans after FCS are to study elementary education at Roanoke College with a possible minor in either early childhood development or psychology.
