FCS Life: Grandparents Day 2022 | Faith Christian School in Roanoke, VA

For 19 years, Faith Christian School has welcomed grandparents on campus to see their grandchildren, interact with their peers, and meet teachers and staff.

1-1

In October, Faith Christian School celebrated our 19th Annual Grandparents Day. This day is much anticipated by both grandparents and students. This year we welcomed over 250 grandparents to campus who had the opportunity to hear from our Heads of School and the Director of Development. The highlight of the morning, however, was the JK-12th grade student presentations, followed by visitation with grandchildren in their classrooms to meet their teachers.

Faith Christian School’s Parent Volunteer Organization (PVO) members greeted our guests, served refreshments, and assisted with parking. Our Student Ambassadors (select high school students) served as greeters and guides. Grandparents enjoyed interacting with the Student Ambassadors as they answered questions and engaged in conversation while ushering grandparents to the Great Room and classrooms.

“It was wonderful to see the process of how the school planned to educate our most precious gift, our granddaughter Cayce Anne.”
- Billy and Debbie Carroll, Grandparents to Cayce Anne, Class of 2036

“What a marvelous time we had attending grandparent's day at Faith Christian School again this year. In all the years we have attended, each has been such a blessing to us. Everyone involved in making our day special has been so gracious in welcoming us to the school. Although we enjoyed our time visiting and being recognized, the day was somewhat bittersweet for Bill and me. Our granddaughter Karmin Osborne is a senior and headed off to college in 2023. We want to thank everyone, including Mr. Baur, all staff members, teachers, coaches, and volunteers for loving Karmin through her thirteen years attending FCS. We'll miss you all. Love and prayers for each of you.”
- Anna Beveridge and Bill Vogel, Grandparents to Karmin Osborne, Class of 2023
