Christian classical education is a Christ-centered, time-tested approach that nurtures students’ love of learning while forming their hearts, minds, and character. Rooted in the belief that children are made in God’s image, it aims to help them grow in wisdom and virtue by pursuing what is good, true, and beautiful. Through a classical method that emphasizes clear thinking, strong communication, and deep understanding, students are prepared not only for academic success but for a purposeful life in the world God has made.
What is a “Christian classical” education?
Christian: In broad terms, Christian has to do with the understanding that God wants us to see Him, others, ourselves, and all of His creation in a particular way. It emphasizes that your children carry God’s image, and it seeks to cultivate in each child’s heart, mind, and soul those things that are good, true, and beautiful (See Ephesians 3:14-19). The goal, at the least, is that your children will be able to recognize these things and, at the most, that they will actively pursue them.

Classical: Classical has to do with a particular method of educating. This method is very purpose-driven and pursues excellence in sound reasoning, substantive writing, persuasive communication, keen observation, practiced memorization, and thoughtful questions. These and other skills are contextualized toward the formation of virtues, which have inherent value and, in proper context, are to be used to glorify God and experience His world fully. Taken together, this method and goal fuel the innate loves of all children - learning, questioning, discovering, understanding, reasoning, and figuring things out on their own.
Christian classical education uses a time-honored and robust method of educating junior kindergarteners through the twelfth grade by inspiring what comes naturally to all children: a love for learning, a deep desire to discover, unending curiosity, and endless questions. The aim is to cultivate in the hearts, minds, and souls of students a desire to see God and the world as He intends, and to be able to thrive in all of life intellectually, spiritually, vocationally, and avocationally.
“Success” at Faith is seeing graduates equipped through a comprehensive, intentional school experience (classical curriculum, godly role models, biblical worldview, programs and activities, and culture) to pursue whatever endeavor they are called to in the world He has created.
Christian classical education takes place within a robust academic program. We do not shy away from this challenging task as it prepares students for the challenges of life.
