The Society for Classical Learning is an organization based in Richmond that helps Christian classical schools to thrive. Faith Christian is an active member and beneficiary of SCL’s work. With the rapid increase in the number of Christian classical schools opening across the country, SCL is at the forefront of helping these schools through its experienced leaders and quality offerings.

In addition to an annual national conference attracting over 1,000 attendees both in person and virtually, SCL provides support across all dimensions of a school’s needs. This support includes everything from board education in proper governance to teacher training, job postings, year-long cohorts, and workshops geared toward mentoring educators in specific tasks associated with a mature, well-run school.

In the summer of 2024, Faith Christian School took nearly half of its teachers, staff, and administrators to the SCL Conference in Maryland, with the other half attending virtually. It was a great time of learning, inspiration, and getting to know one another better.

Another powerful result of attending the conference was realizing that Faith Christian School is part of a significant movement in the resurgence of a mode of education that for over 2,000 years produced some of the greatest statesmen, composers, artists, adventurers, theologians, architects, inventors, etc. known to man.  The popularity of the conference, and others like it, is a testimony to the privilege of being part of this great movement. SCL, now over 25 years old, includes over 500 member schools and has been a part of helping to bring over 200 Christian classical schools into existence in the past two years alone.
