"I love Faith Christian School because I love that Christ moving in and through this building. The students are loved by their teachers far more than they will ever realize, and the community I have found here is one that I hope I will always have standing behind me." - Ashmine Lusk
I attended FCS part-time as a student from 9th grade to 12th grade. I always loved the school, the teachers, the atmosphere, and the amount of learning that was always happening here. I decided I wanted to become a Spanish teacher in the 10th grade, and I always thought it would be neat if I could come back and teach at FCS. The Lord worked it out for me to do so, and I am so very happy to be back!
What post-secondary schools did you attend? Degrees held?
Grace College in Winona Lake, Indiana, for my degree in Spanish Education
What year did you start teaching/working at Faith Christian School?
I began teaching at Faith Christian School in the fall of 2018.

I was a substitute teacher here at FCS before I became a teacher, and I was also a long-term sub at Northside High School for almost a whole semester.
What are your hobbies or things you enjoy outside of the school?
Thomas and I enjoy playing music together and hiking, especially during the fall. I also like shopping with my mom and playing games with friends on the weekends.

In His Image by Jen Wilkin or Everybody Always by Bob Goff
How many books do you have stacked on your bedside table or in your "To Read" pile?
Love Does by Bob Goff, Jesus Calling Devotional, and Dark Clouds, Deep Mercy
What do you find most compelling or distinct about Christian classical education?
I would definitely want my own (future) kids to have an education at Faith Christian School because first and foremost it comes from a Christ-centered perspective. Also, I think that FCS really helps students learn to become thinkers for themselves and learn how to reason and analyze.
What or who inspired you to work in education?
That would definitely be my mom, Tracey Minnix, and my Spanish Teacher, Ronda Clark.
If you have a personal life's mission statement, what is it? If not, how might you describe what you feel called to as a believer?
I feel, as a believer, I am called by Christ to love well, seek the Truth, and to share the Good News of Salvation with those who don't know Him.
If you have a "life verse" or a verse that is ministering to you right now, what might it be?
I have always loved 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18: Be joyful always, pray without ceasing, and give thanks in all circumstances, for this is the will of Christ Jesus for you.
Why do you love Faith Christian School or what do you appreciate most about Faith Christian School?
I love Faith Christian School because I love that Christ moving in and through this building. The students are loved by their teachers far more than they will ever realize, and the community I have found here is one that I hope I will always have standing behind me.
